There may not be additional outlets for the audiobook version of the Jefferson Bible project. I just spent a solid hour navigating the (labyrinthine) depths of lulu.com, trying to figure out how to do an audiobook download format project. The multimedia download options simply don’t exist any longer.
I don’t recall getting any communication from lulu.com about the change in availability of audiobooks, and I have another audiobook already published there.
I’ve had heartburn with lulu.com’s commission structures, and how much they take in profit per sale (my average share is about $0.75) and now part of my whole strategy has been removed.
This means the podcast version may be next, which I may do in two different formats – one that is audio only, and another that is more like a picturebook video.
Should I be moving my other business from lulu.com if I find another option that I can afford? We’ll see. Meanwhile, come back for future updates.

The audiobook is now available through eztolistento.com. The audio problems were hardware, not the files, so we’re back to normal. I’m re-recording some audio sections that still don’t suit me, but then I’m picky.
The audiobook will also be soon available on lulu.com as a download.
I’m moving forward with some possibilities for a podcast version. Leave a comment and tell me what version might be most helpful for you. Thanks for your support!

Well, yes, the Jefferson Bible project is recorded and edited. However, somewhere in the middle I lost an entire audio channel and I cannot duplicate how that happened. So I’m a little stymied. It will be posted fairly soon to eztolistento.com and thereadingdesk store at lulu.com.
I’ve also decided to try it out as a podcast, but I need to fix the audio first. And I’m shopping for podcast hosts – if you have a recommendation, please chime in.
Meanwhile, check out the eStore page for all of my projects so far and where you can download them.
Thanks!
… I think I’m going to need a larger hammer.

The Jefferson Bible for the 21st Century will be available as an audiobook very soon. It has been recorded and edited. The post production should wrap up by this weekend. More information about the project is available on the Jefferson Bible page (hit the tab at the top) and on http://jeffbible21.com.
The first stop for the audiobook is going to be http://eztolistento.com. They already carry my pilot audiobook project (Alice in Wonderland), but I think this audiobook will make a far more significant splash. A short sample of the audio, and the complete audiobook will next be moving to lulu.com
What should I record next? Contenders include Moby Dick, The Age of Reason, or something else? Feel free to make suggestions on what you’d like to hear.

I have been able to record the first several chapters of The Jefferson Bible for the 21st Century, but have been stymied by an extended sinus infection. Now that my head is more clear and the holidays are nearly done, I’m trying to get this project wrapped up.
I’ve also decided that I will attempt to do a podcast version as well, but I’m not sure what that may look like when I’m done.

Just a quick note here – the audio book for the Jefferson Bible for the 21st Century is definitely a project for the long Thanksgiving holiday break. Provided the rest of my planets get into alignment, I hope to be able to get this off my long overdue ‘to do’ list, and published by early December.

The Haunted Homeowner’s Survival Guide has been updated to include a few more ideas that were not completely nailed down. It is written from a skeptical point of view, pointing out that many ‘hauntings’ are really easily attributable to other phenomena.
This doesn’t mean that I believe that all hauntings are debunked! But I think you need to appreciate the rational point of view, embrace the possibility of mystery, and keep your eyes open all the way around.
I missed my sales goals for pre-Halloween, but I will keep it available so that it can help everybody who needs it. Yes, I’m not a marketing guru!

I’ve released a minor update to The Haunted Homeowner’s Survival Guide. It is available at Smashwords.com.
Webmasters: You can help me market my book and earn a commission on all sales via your links to my book on Smashwords. You can find more details on the program here.
I’ve been getting some positive early feedback, and that’s always a good thing. I hope this little book helps a lot of people!

The Haunted Homeowner’s Survival Guide!

front cover - if it ever goes 'paper version'
This project just sort of came up on a forum I visit once a week or so. The ‘guys’ were concerned that the paranormal “reality” types of TV shows are feeding a lot of misinformation to a gullible public. Yeah, well caveat emptor and all of that jazz… except there is no way to know what the caveats are. Hmmm. What does a homeowner need to know before she contacts a paranormal investigative group? What is the “evidence” all about? Do they want money?
All of the answers that I could muster are in the pamphlet on the link above. It is both a web site, a downloadable (free!) PDF file, and it also is in eBook formats on Smashwords.com.
If you have ideas for more content, please send email and let me know what I missed.
I hope you’re not haunted! Happy Halloween (a bit early)!

I've killed about a week or so pondering which background music to use (if any) for the audio book version of The Jefferson Bible for the 21st Century.
Several podcasts and audio books I've been sampling are just horrid as far as audio quality, and I certainly don't want to slap-dash something together before it is considered. I think many audio book publishers don't truly grasp that what they put into an audio file goes directly into people's brains these days – via headphones. There is no filter.
On the other hand, I need to complete this project and move on to the oft-delayed Moby Dick. So yes, there is identifiable progress. Sometimes circular, sometimes in a completely incorrect direction, but there is progress.
